Are you feeling overwhelmed by everything life is throwing at you? Maybe you find yourself stuck in the same patterns even though you’ve worked hard to change them. Therapy can help you better understand what’s keeping you stuck, develop new ways of coping, and build a life that feels more aligned with who you are. Finding a therapist who understands those experiences can make a meaningful difference and I strive to provide that kind of space for my clients.
My approach to therapy is person-centered, trauma-informed, and grounded in evidence-based practices. I value body positivity, cultural humility, and creating an environment where people of all identities feel respected and supported. I enjoy working with a wide range of clients with a variety of concerns. What’s most important to me is creating a space where you’re not a diagnosis and are treated with respect and dignity.
I believe therapy works best when it feels like a genuine collaboration. My goal is to create an environment where you can be yourself without worrying about judgment. I bring warmth, curiosity, and humor into therapy while also challenging you when needed. Together, we’ll build a treatment plan that reflects your strengths and values and what matters most to you.
I also want therapy to have an impact beyond our sessions. We’ll focus on developing practical skills, increasing self-awareness, and creating lasting changes that you can continue to build on long after you leave my office.
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT): CBT focuses on the relationship between our thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. Together, we’ll identify unhelpful thought patterns, explore how they affect your daily life, and practice more balanced ways of thinking that support meaningful change.
Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT): DBT provides practical skills for managing overwhelming emotions, coping with distress, improving relationships, and staying present through difficult moments. These skills can be especially helpful for people who experience intense emotions or feel stuck in reactive patterns.
Inner Child Work: Many of our current struggles have roots in earlier experiences. Inner child work helps us explore those experiences with compassion, recognize unmet emotional needs, and develop healthier ways of responding to ourselves. The goal isn’t to relive the past, but to better understand how it continues to shape the present.
Parts Work: Parts work is a therapeutic approach based on the idea that our personalities aren’t singular or fixed; they’re made up of different “parts” that each serve a purpose. Rather than seeing conflicting thoughts or emotions as flaws, parts work views them as different aspects of yourself trying to protect or help you, even if they do so in unhelpful ways. We try to remove that sticky layer of guilt and shame and look at what these parts really are: coping skills.
No matter where you’re starting, therapy is an opportunity to better understand yourself, heal from difficult experiences, and move toward the life you want. If you’re wondering whether we’d be a good fit, I encourage you to reach out and have a free 15 minute consultation. You don’t have to have everything figured out before starting therapy. Taking the first step is enough.
