I have been in practice as a Licensed Psychologist for the past 25 years, working in multiple settings with adults, adolescence, couples and groups. This rich experience has given me the gift of being in a therapeutic relationship with clients experiencing a multitude of issues and struggles within self and relationships. I have continued through out my career to increase my knowledge and skills with ongoing educational experience to better provide for my clients. And yet I believe I have learned the most from my clients experiencing anxiety, depression, mood disorders, managing anger, loss and grief, trauma, addiction and relationship problems. My clients have provided me with many different skills to pass on and the realization that in the practice of mental health and addiction, one size does not fit all.
When we first meet, the first question I will ask you is “What can I help you with” and together we will begin your work. I will travel with you on your journey, providing you support and the skills so you are able to find the meaning and happiness you are seeking.
My therapeutic approach is based on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Trauma Informed Therapy. When working with couples I utilize a CBT approach and have been trained in Gottman approach. Having been married for 45 years and having children and grandchildren, I believe I know a little about intimate and family relationships. I also have a great sense of humor which has helped me navigate these relationships and you may experience in our relationship.
Personally, I am very down to earth, direct, warm, empathetic and supportive. When not working I spend my time at my cabin with my family and dogs. I enjoy fishing, 4-wheeling, gardening, reading and working on construction projects at my home and cabin.
