I full heartedly believe in the benefits of empowering children and adolescents, building their self-confidence, and providing them with the skills necessary to navigate this challenging world. When working with children specifically, I believe every behavior is a form of communication and it is my goal to provide them with the skills and resources necessary to create more meaningful and effective interactions with their world.
I emphasize a person-centered, holistic approach in which the client is the expert of their own lives and I am here to assist them in their journey as we navigate and process through the challenges of life. It is my goal to create a safe space for my clients where they can feel authentically them and feel supported every step of the way. I believe the mind is powerful and tends to run ahead, leaving the body behind. It is important to reconnect with our bodies and allow our minds to find peace in the present.
I have experience working with children and adolescents in various roles over the past several years. Within this time, I have supported individuals who were challenged with depression, anxiety, attachment, substance use, and various types of trauma. I have also had the pleasure of working with children who have been diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder.
I obtained a master’s degree in clinical psychology and am a licensed therapist in both mental health and addictions. In addition, I am currently pursuing my doctoral degree in counseling psychology. With this educational experience, I am focusing on further developing my knowledge and skills in child and adolescent needs.
