Since I was a young child, I always loved helping others. Whether it was through lending an ear to a friend who just needed someone to listen, or volunteering in the community. It was just always so satisfying to leave fragments of peace for whomever or wherever I could. It has been such an honor and privilege for me to have now turned my passion in helping others into a career.
I graduated from the University Wisconsin-Stout with a Bachelor of Science in Human Development & Family Studies, and from Capella University with a Master of Science in Mental Health Counseling. I’m an active member of both the American Counseling Association and Minnesota Counseling Association, as well as a MN Board Certified LPCC Supervisor. I am a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor with a long background in helping children, teens, and adults. Recently I have added the skills of an EMDR therapist as I expand my abilities to be of service to all. Many times, I have been complimented on how quickly children feel safe with me which makes me very happy.
My therapeutic approach includes helping people of all ages build on their inner strengths and break free from negative thought and behavior patterns that get in the way of living a healthy balanced life. I use an integrative framework, drawing from Cognitive Behavioral, Solution-Focused, and Person-Centered theories, tailored to meet each person where they are at, and best support everyone in their own unique journey towards growth and healing. My top priority is to ensure effective therapeutic treatment, while providing a compassionate, trusting, and non-judgmental environment for everyone.
In my spare time I enjoy being outside as much as the weather permits- biking, hiking, enjoying one of our beautiful MN lakes, having a bonfire with friends, or simply soaking up the sun while reading a good book. I’m also an avid yoga enthusiast and enjoy traveling to visit family in all parts of the country as much I can.
