Hi I’m Amanda Ripley-Kayala, a dually-licensed (LPCC, LADC) Master’s level Adlerian Therapist trained in EMDR with a focus on co-occurring disorders, trauma, and the LGBTQ+ community. My Licenses in both Mental Health Clinical Counseling and Alcohol & Drug Counseling help me to connect with the complexities of who you are so I might bring a wide range of resourcing to our work together.
My Adlerian perspective tells me that people, you and I, are social beings looking for ways to connect and contribute. We are creative, responsive, and responsible for our thinking, emotions, and behaviors. We are holistic, indivisible creatures functioning as biological, psychological, sociological, and spiritual & philosophical beings and that we are goal-directed, moving toward a self-defined and self-created world of satisfaction, accomplishment, and fulfillment.
I moved to Minnesota after growing up in Utah and am happy to call Minnesota my home. Lucy, my feisty dog, and I enjoy taking long walks. When I can, I appreciate attending concerts, traveling, and playing Dungeons and Dragons with friends.
This combination of training and licensing and my world view makes me a trauma-informed, holistic, person-centered therapist whose goal is to create a trusting and compassionate therapeutic atmosphere which encourages self-exploration, self-awareness and movement to achieve your goals in therapy and in life. I also fully support mini-dance parties as way to manage anxiety and increase energy and confidence!
